eGIX Expands into Local Phone Service Market

Carmel, IN, April 16, 2004–Steve Johns, President and CEO of Carmel-based eGIX Inc. today announced that the company has jumped into the competitive business of local phone service targeting the small to medium sized business market.

This move expands eGIX’s large product line that already includes Internet services (dial-up and broadband), unified communications (One-Number Follow-Me service; unified voice and data) and offerings such as long distance and toll-free service.

Johns stated that eGIX can provide residential service but the company’s focus will be on the small to medium sized business owner who currently has limited options for affordable and customized phone service solutions. “eGIX specializes in customizing and converging technologies to meet the individual needs of our business customers,” said Johns. “We believe one size does not fit all, unlike our competitors who use a more ‘off the rack’ approach to servicing this market segment.”
