Frequently Asked Questions: eNCOMPASS

Why can't I plug in my SPA 1000/2000 directly into a telephone wall jack?

If you do not first isolate your inside wiring, and the phone company decides to send voltage across a line you thought was dead, it could damage the telephone equipment inside your house or worse, cause a fire.

The Advanced Configuration guide to connect multiple phones to eNCOMPASS may require you to connect the SPA 1000/2000 directly to a telephone wall jack, HOWEVER, you must first isolate your inside phone wiring from the lines that come into you house from the phone company.

See Step-by-Step Instructions: Connecting multiple phones to your eNCOMPASS Residential Service
